Funded Energy Redress Projects

Since the Energy Redress Scheme launched Phase One of the scheme in 2018, Energy Saving Trust has awarded over £150 million to fund nearly 721 projects across England, Scotland and Wales. These grants have enabled organisations to deliver projects that help energy consumers in vulnerable situations to save energy and money in their homes and to live warmer, more comfortable lives. Phase Two of the scheme launched in May 2022.

The ‘Home Retrofit Advice Service’ and ‘Solar Made Easy’ projects will be scaled up to build householder confidence and improve accessibility of energy efficiency and renewable energy measures for householders. Taking a community-by-community approach, working in partnership with local community groups, parish councils and the Farmer Network; they will increase engagement and confidence in the local supply chain; increase supplier confidence in the market and unlock £1million of spend on retrofit in Cumbria (£10k per household). NCH Energy Smart People and Communities

Partnering with Warm Wales and National Energy Action (NEA), Newport City Homes will provide a team consisting of trained Community Workers to provide light touch energy advice, looking to reduce fuel expenditure and improve energy efficiency of their homes. Warm Wales community workers will provide in-depth energy advice and education along with energy saving packs. In addition, Warm Wales will work with social prescribing projects and wellbeing to support customers to engage in activities to improve their health and well-being. Thenue Energy Advice Project (TEA Project)

The Energy Advice and Advocacy project will be delivered by Thenue Housing Assocation, a registered social landlord managing over 3,800 properties in the east End of Glasgow and Netherholm, Castlemilk.  Households will be provided with ‘warm’ referrals from housing staff, community partners and self-referrals from local residents.  The project will target low-income and vulnerable households struggling to heat their homes and pay energy bills. The project will retrofit empty homes with teams of local volunteers, and homeless people who then will move into the homes on completion. Canopy Community Retrofit will combine its ‘self-help’ housing model, community volunteering programme, and commitment to bio-based materials, to engage some of the most disadvantaged, isolated people in Leeds in practical climate action.

Socialising heat pumps' flexibility benefits

The project will address the energy crisis and empower social housing tenants and landlords to save energy and money. As a result of social housing decarbonisation, large numbers of tenants have access to the benefit of low carbon heat and/or photovoltaics (PVs) and batteries, yet many are unable to fully realise the benefits. The project will support to engage tenants and landlords to efficiency use heat pumps, with research and campaigns.

Caritas Salford aims to tackle poverty in very deprived communities across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.  They provide a practical response to those in crisis and suffering hardship through 12 community projects that support over 2,000 vulnerable and socially excluded households a year. They will establish a new Energy Advice Service to support its existing work with, for example, people at risk of homelessnessattending our‘Warm Hub’ day centres; people attending our food bank; families accessing support from its team of social workers and counsellors; adult refugees attending our

Warmer Homes Phase 2

This project will continue the work to support vulnerable and fuel-poor households with practical energy saving advice and measures. The partnership between One Northern Devon Fuel Poverty group as a key stakeholder, and 361 Energy as delivery partner remains at the core of the project. The scope of the project will remain on hospital, NHS teams, home care providers and will extend to home care providers and third sector groups working with minority communities.

Energy Local Totnes (ELT) is a club for buying and selling locally-generated renewable electricity at a fair price, saving domestic customer members money off their bills and at the same time helping to reduce their carbon emissions. Households that sign up to ELT will purchase 100% green electricity at a competitive price. For the first year the price for locally generated renewable energy is set at 19.5pkWh, compared to the average bill of 33pkWh. ELT is innovative, as it is the first Energy Local "Plus" club, which can continue to grow by the addition of small-scale generation, balanced by
