Funded Energy Redress Projects

Since the Energy Redress Scheme launched Phase One of the scheme in 2018, Energy Saving Trust has awarded over £150 million to fund nearly 660 projects across England, Scotland and Wales. These grants have enabled organisations to deliver projects that help energy consumers in vulnerable situations to save energy and money in their homes and to live warmer, more comfortable lives. Phase Two of the scheme launched in May 2022.

Lambeth Energy Boost

The Connect Lambeth consortium will support Lambeth residents struggling with energy poverty through high quality energy advice, and holistic support with partners to improve their financial resilience, enabling them to meet the cost of energy bills. ‘Lambeth Energy Boost’ is designed to engage with those residents most at risk from fluctuations in the cost of their energy.  A targeted community engagement program delivered in food banks, community centres and general practices and will help meet the needs of the most vulnerable and hard to reach who engage less in statutory and community

Energy Resilience Alliance: Empowering Vulnerable Communities

Citizens Advice Mid Mercia will lead an innovative collaboration between three Local Citizens Advice, local foodbanks, and Beat the Cold, to identify and engage with vulnerable Foodbank-users in East Staffordshire, Tamworth, Lichfield, Stafford, South Staffordshire and Cannock Chase. Through this collaboration vulnerable residents will be identified and provided with crisis support as well as holistic energy advice from energy advisors.

The project will provide comprehensive and holistic energy advice to 750 people per year and aim to reduce energy bills. The project will build on local partnerships with voluntary and community organisations to increase energy advice referrals, focussing on those areas of highest deprivation, increase home visits and referrals, train advisers and more.

Warmer Healthier Homes 2

Warmer Healthier Homes SW Devon (WHH) is the continuation of an existing Energy Redress funded project providing high quality, in depth energy support to vulnerable householders in SW Devon. The project will target the most vulnerable in a wider area with home visits and detailed phone advice, offering crisis grants and small measures, and onward referrals to whole house retrofitting and wellbeing support where possible. Community-led Retrofit Service, Wales

A new community led pan-Wales retrofit technical and advisory service for owner occupiers (O/O) and the private rented sector (PRS).  The service will be hosted and delivered through existing trusted community-led organisations and will be based on PAS2035: Retrofitting Dwellings for Improved Energy Efficiency and delivered by accredited Retrofit Assessors and Retrofit Co-ordinators. The project will engage with the able-to-pay market, creating the confidence necessary to stimulate private investment by owner occupiers to carry out deep retrofit.

Remote Northumberland Energy Advice 2

Community Action Northumberland will provide a high level of support to rural residents through energy advice from energy advisors, including one-to-one advice, group advice. They are committed to reducing fuel poverty and increasing household energy efficiency across Northumberland’s rural communities and will continue to provide a network of warm, energy-efficient community venues acting as focal points for energy support and advice.

A Specialist Energy Adviser (SEA) will be employed at 37 hours per week, to deliver advice, support and casework, to 805 vulnerable consumers, including: people aged 75+, low-income families and single parents with children under the age of five, people with disabilities, or health conditions, which are exacerbated by cold homes. The SEA will collaborate with advisers and partners (NEST

East Lancashire Energy Action (ELEA)

Citizens Advice Rossendale, Hyndburn, Ribble Valley (CARH) are merging with Burnley and Pendle Citizens Advice to create Citizens Advice East Lancashire. East Lancashire Energy Advice (ELEA) will help 4,500 vulnerable people living in fuel poverty to improve their energy use. ELEA will offer holistic energy advice to vulnerable households, including those on low incomes, older people, and people with physical and mental health issues.

Energy Focus Local

The project will expand a team of specialist energy advisers to provide intensive advice and support to 1,070 households in vulnerable situations and engage with a further 1,600 throughout Darlington, Redcar, Cleveland and Hartlepool to mitigate the effect of fuel poverty. The project will have two strategic focus areas. It will target tenants living in privately rented accommodation. It will also seek to uplift the numbers of BAME beneficiaries that would otherwise be achieved through its core service offering.
