Conservation Retrofit Catalyst

Charity
Nottingham Energy Partnership

Conservation Retrofit Catalyst will reduce carbon emissions by improving the uptake and quality of retrofit for homes constructed before 1919 which comprise 21% of the UK housing stock and are proportionally the greatest contributor to carbon emissions from domestic buildings. Working alongside leading conservation architects, the partnership will address the additional steps required for traditional homes to access effective whole house retrofit, including compliance, funding, skills, uptake and performance. The project will be piloted in the Old Meadows Conservation Area in Nottingham and be used to develop a replicable model to overcome the specific barriers to retrofit in Conservation Areas and tackle one of the most significant challenges to meeting emissions targets for UK domestic buildings.
