Funded Energy Redress Projects

Since the Energy Redress Scheme launched in 2018, Energy Saving Trust has awarded over £213 million to fund nearly 790 projects across England, Scotland and Wales. These grants have enabled organisations to deliver projects that help energy consumers in vulnerable situations to save energy and money in their homes and to live warmer, more comfortable lives.

To find out more about the projects we have funded, see the full list, which can be filtered.

You can also find specific case studies of some of the funded projects here.

Phase 2
Round 4
Grant award
£102,314
Project Name
Warm Connections 2

Warm Connections provides a free, impartial energy advice service to households, focussing on reducing carbon emissions through behavioural changes, energy saving measures and renewable technologies. The project area covers Aberfeldy and surrounds (Ward Four Highland west of the A9, plus Killin) and is classified by the Scottish Government, as ‘remote rural’ or ‘very remote rural’; over half of households are off the gas grid. By being based within the project area, Warm Connections has made face to face home energy advice far more accessible to householders in the area.

Phase 2
Round 4
Grant award

Project Name
Community-Led Energy Allocation of Renewables (CLEAR)

CLEAR maximises the use of local, green generation by matching solar generation with local domestic customer demand.  All available renewable generation is matched with local customers, digitally and automatically before any electricity is imported from the Grid unlocking benefits of c3.2p/kWh for matched electricity that’s shared amongst participants. This project will trial the roll-out of a new P2P energy time-matching service not yet accessible to energy consumers that will reduce customer bills and reduce the environmental impact and carbon emissions of the energy used. This project will trial the roll-out of a new P2P energy time-matching service not yet accessible to energy consumers that will reduce customer bills and reduce the environmental impact and carbon emissions of the energy used. With potential for UK-wide replication, CLEAR provides immediate access to cheaper, greener energy for households, and incentivizes the installation of new domestic PV systems. The project presents a blueprint for maximising local renewable energy generation and consumption.

Phase 2
Round 4
Grant award
£130,510
Project Name
Increasing energy awareness & resilience

The project will support women who have been subjected to domestic abuse and are vulnerable to high energy costs. They will support women with interactive energy saving advice in person, on the telephone and digitally and in community settings where women can feel safe, reduction of energy bills, and to access holistic support for complex issues experiences as a result of abuse.
