Funded Energy Redress Projects

Since the Energy Redress Scheme launched Phase One of the scheme in 2018, Energy Saving Trust has awarded over £191 million to fund nearly 755 projects across England, Scotland and Wales. These grants have enabled organisations to deliver projects that help energy consumers in vulnerable situations to save energy and money in their homes and to live warmer, more comfortable lives. Phase Two of the scheme launched in May 2022.

Working with Southside vulnerable energy consumers

Working with Southside vulnerable energy consumers will solve residents' energy issues for one of the most densely populated areas in Scotland, where 35,000 residents live within a 20 minute walk. In an area of mixed tenure and mixed demographics, they will target vulnerable families living in privately rent accommodation and solve the energy issues of over 500 households per year.

Castlemilk Pantry Energy Advice Project

Castlemilk Pantry Energy Advice Project aims to expand local provision across the Castlemilk community through an Energy Advisor who will provide support and advice to members of the Castlemilk Pantry. Fabric First Retrofit To Timber Kit will pilot a retrofit solution for difficult to treat timber kit properties to bring them up to the insulation standard of Hjaltland Housing Association’s new build properties through a fabric first approach to improve thermal performance, air tightness and reduce thermal bridging.  At present there is not an innovative solution for fabric first improvements to timber kit properties.

Fair Energy Isles will reduce emissions, demonstrate measurable and lasting reductions in the carbon intensity of energy use and accelerate the just transition to net zero in fuel poor households across the Outer Hebrides. This will improve the accessibility of renewable energy products, energy efficiency and services for fuel poor households by establishing a local decarbonisation service which offers advice and oversee the local supply chain. This aims to build an evidence base to help other remote rural communities replicate this work.

Easterhouse Cosy Homes will provide an energy advice and advocacy service in 3 communities in Easterhouse, Glasgow. An Energy Advisor will support up to 750 households. This will build on their successful income advice service to tackle fuel poverty and address need and demand which has been identified -  low income and vulnerable households, families/individuals struggling to heat homes and pay energy bills, and new tenants who are at risk of becoming in debt.
