Tackling fuel poverty caused by cancer will provide an Energy Advice Team to support people with cancer by giving energy savings advice. There will now be an additional team of Advisers who assist both with energy advice and household income maximisation (ie claiming benefits or securing grants) to reach a wider range of vulnerable people and provide a 'one-stop' approach to improving the household financial situation and keeping homes warm. This expert team now take referrals not only from the Macmillan telephone helpline and also from Macmillan health professionals working in local communities and hospitals.
