Funded Energy Redress Projects

Since the Energy Redress Scheme launched Phase One of the scheme in 2018, Energy Saving Trust has awarded over £102 million to fund nearly 538 projects across England, Scotland and Wales. These grants have enabled organisations to deliver projects that help energy consumers in vulnerable situations to save energy and money in their homes and to live warmer, more comfortable lives. Phase Two of the scheme launched in May 2022.

The Saving Energy Bank

The Saving Energy Bank project will help vulnerable consumers in North East Wales using credit meters. It will target those experiencing fuel poverty and in energy debt, including those who are rationing their usage, with detriment to their wellbeing, or at risk of disconnection. The project will primarily provide an advice service to help consumers identify where their costs are arising, how they might reduce their energy consumption, provide easy-to-fit, low-cost small energy saving measures, provide crisis payments, directly to their energy provider to reduce outstanding debts.

Kings Tamerton Affordable Net Zero Homes will partner with Plymouth City Council for its first PEC Homes project, which is a c.40 unit scheme on council owned land. Tenants Powered Up

Tenants Powered Up will deliver intensive energy advice to people living in privately rented accommodation and vulnerable situations and will assemble a team of specialist Energy Advice workers. They will work closely with local authorities, the Combined Mayoral Authority, the Fire service, and voluntary sector partners to provide direct energy advice to around 2800 tenants. It will also help ensure landlords meet their obligations by working with local authority enforcement functions and by internal referral to our specialist Legal Aid Housing Advice provision.

Warm & Wise

Warm & Wise is a pioneering project specifically supporting older energy consumers in vulnerable situations across Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, supporting 7,000 households in a two-year period with in-depth, personally tailored energy advice and the fitting of free energy-saving measures and minor repairs. In addition, in-depth telephone calls and energy-related support will increase householders' incomes via welfare benefits applications, all of which supports areas of high fuel poverty.
