Funded Energy Redress Projects

Since the Energy Redress Scheme launched Phase One of the scheme in 2018, Energy Saving Trust has awarded over £150 million to fund nearly 721 projects across England, Scotland and Wales. These grants have enabled organisations to deliver projects that help energy consumers in vulnerable situations to save energy and money in their homes and to live warmer, more comfortable lives. Phase Two of the scheme launched in May 2022.

The Warm, Safe and Sound Programme will continue to support disabled people and those with long-term health conditions, who are at risk of (or are living in) fuel poverty. Better Housing Better Health (Phase 2)

Better Housing Better Health will provide 1500 vulnerable households with expert advice, in depth-support and end to end case management. It will deliver 60 online training events, aiming to educate 360 local stakeholders on fuel poverty, cold homes and energy efficiency with a network of 20 ‘warmth champions’ who will be provided with additional support and training and will be situated amongst local community hubs, providing a trusted voice on available support.

Affordable Warmth Advocacy

Affordable Warmth Advocacy is a regional two-year energy advice service designed to meet unprecedented need for in-depth support, anticipated to increase in coming years. Three qualified caseworkers will provide capacity to empower clients to have skills/tools to tackle fuel poverty’s root causes as well as delivering immediate energy-related crisis support. Delivery will be by telephone, email, casework, online sessions, with home visits and community events where safe to do so.

Healthy Homes for all

Healthy Homes for all is a project to increase awareness of domestic energy issues and reduce the risk of fuel poverty amongst harder to reach and BME communities, likely to be disproportionately affected by the impacts of covid-19, and more at risk of self-disconnection. The project will fund a full-time qualified energy advisor for a year who will use existing networks to deliver talks, training sessions and one-to-one support for residents in person, by telephone or virtually.

Smart Solar in Cannock

Beat the Cold will work with Chase Community Solar to increase savings to the Council tenants that have solar PV on their bungalow roofs. The project aims to significantly increase the amount of the solar energy residents use by introducing domestic battery technology and providing tailored customer advice and energy education.
