Funded Energy Redress Projects

Since the Energy Redress Scheme launched Phase One of the scheme in 2018, Energy Saving Trust has awarded over £102 million to fund nearly 538 projects across England, Scotland and Wales. These grants have enabled organisations to deliver projects that help energy consumers in vulnerable situations to save energy and money in their homes and to live warmer, more comfortable lives. Phase Two of the scheme launched in May 2022.

Norfolk Warm and Wise Partnership

Norfolk Warm and Wise Partnership is a county-wide energy advice scheme to reach and support 2,000 households in vulnerable situations. New qualified energy advisers will be employed to offer energy advice training to all 244 volunteer and staff advisers across Norfolk and deliver free and impartial energy advice to vulnerable households via email, free-phone and online. Once Covid-19 restrictions allow, they will also offer face-to-face sessions at 12 Citizen's Advice offices across Norfolk and 11 outreach locations.

Cosy Ceredigion

The Cosy Ceredigion project will have the Citizens Advice team will target households most at risk of self-disconnection from their energy supplies, fuel poverty and exclusion from other sources of support. Practical help and quality assured advice will be given to increase the uptake of benefits, deal with debt and to ensure households are using energy wisely.

Pilot Whole House Retrofit Service

The Whole-House Retrofit Service is a collaboration between the National Energy Foundation (NEF) and two community based climate organisations in Winchester District and Petersfield. The project will build knowledge, capacity and a local supply chain to create a new service that supports owner occupiers to transform the energy performance of their homes, informed by an Whole House Plan developed by a Retrofit Coordinator and backed by NEF’s new ‘SuperHomes Rating Scheme’ (SRS) which will provide a benchmark of retrofit excellence.

Warmer Healthier Homes SW Devon

Warmer Healthier Homes South West Devon is a partnership approach to addressing fuel poverty and poor health outcomes in West Devon and South Hams. The partnership will utilise the experience, relationships, activities and two local community energy groups to establish local partnership teams who can identify those most in need, enabling targeted and meaningful energy advice and support.

Smart Solar in Barnsley

Through tailored customer energy education and advice, the Smart Solar in Barnsley project aims to increase the level of solar self-consumption, which in turn reduces the tenants electricity bills. The project will also trial an automated increase in solar self consumption through the use of domestic battery technology. The project will gain market intelligence on local grid revenues to ascertain how secure these are and if they can contribute to a retrofit battery model for other social housing tenants.

Applecross is a grid-constrained, rural community with only single-phase power available. This energy barrier hinders business development, limits locally generated energy exports and restricts Electric Vehicle charging capabilities. This AppleCoRRE - unlocking local grid constraints project addresses these through a feasibility study into a Community Rapid & Renewable Energy Hub. This system will utilise inverter technology to convert/upscale constrained power supplies into usable power for rapid charge points and introduce this solution within a fully functioning hub using local renewable

Local Energy Advice Project (LEAP) offers a holistic approach to empower vulnerable people to deal with their energy bills and household income more effectively. This will be achieved by delivering one-to-one tailored energy advice sessions (either by telephone, face to face or home visits dependent on Covid-19 restrictions), ongoing casework for complex issues and group energy sessions (either online or in person).
