This project builds on previous funding which piloted a property survey and retrofit co-design service across 10 blocks of flats. The service will increase access to low carbon technologies such as communal solar PV, communal ground source heat pumps, and external wall insulation. This project will carry out further testing and development so the service can be launched on an ongoing basis. Additional research requirements that have been identified include: wider market testing of the customer journey and offer; integration of non-SMETS smart meters; integration with Novoville's 'SharedWorks' digital platform; integration of realworld telemetry in building modelling; development of an automated communal retrofit options engine; financial modelling and confirmation of the business model.
