Funded Energy Redress Projects

Since the Energy Redress Scheme launched Phase One of the scheme in 2018, Energy Saving Trust has awarded over £150 million to fund nearly 660 projects across England, Scotland and Wales. These grants have enabled organisations to deliver projects that help energy consumers in vulnerable situations to save energy and money in their homes and to live warmer, more comfortable lives. Phase Two of the scheme launched in May 2022.

Milnbank Energy Advice Project

The project will offer the communities of Haghill and Dennistoun in the East End of Glasgow access to personalised energy advice and advocacy on an outreach basis across their three community halls. As part of the project, they will develop a series of energy workshops on a wide range of topics, aimed at encouraging behaviour change within their local community.

PMW Energy Redress

The project will work with 25 Foodbanks in Stoke on Trent, Newcastle under Lyme, Cheadle and Leek to provide a comprehensive, dedicated high quality energy advice service dedicated to foodbank customers. They will deliver a range of services with energy advisers in situ from providing information and leaflets to more in-depth casework and support with energy disputes or problems.

The project aims to provide energy advice to some of the most vulnerable people of East and South Birmingham. A partnership of five organisations will see ten energy advisors trained to deliver face-to-face energy saving advice to 1350 Black, Minority Ethnic (BME) households in Pennine Lancashire, so that they can access and benefit from specialist energy advice. The interventions will be delivered in a culturally sensitive way, in various community languages and from community venues to ensure accessibility.

Repowering Homes

This project builds on previous funding which piloted a property survey and retrofit co-design service across 10 blocks of flats. The service will increase access to low carbon technologies such as communal solar PV, communal ground source heat pumps, and external wall insulation. This project will carry out further testing and development so the service can be launched on an ongoing basis. Additional research requirements that have been identified include: wider market testing of the customer journey and offer; integration of non-SMETS smart meters; integration with Novoville's 'SharedWorks'

This project will carry out further testing and development so the service can be launched on an ongoing basis. Additional research requirements that have been identified include: wider market testing of the customer journey and offer; integration of non-SMETS smart meters; integration with Novoville's 'SharedWorks' digital platform; integration of realworld telemetry in building modelling; development of an automated communal retrofit options engine; financial modelling and confirmation of the business model.
